Renew Your Mind: For Faith Driven Entrepreneurs
57 | Creating A Healthier Relationship with Technology: An Interview with Molly DeFrank, Author of the Digital Detox
Show Notes

In this episode I interview Molly DeFrank, the author of Digital Detox: The Two-Week Tech Reset for Kids. Molly shares her wisdom as a mother of 6 who uncovered a path to a healthier relationship with technology for herself and her family.

Some key questions and takeaways:

  • How much do you actually want to use technology? How much are you currently using it?
  • How much are you using technology to consume vs. to create or connect?
  • Use technology as a tool (instead of letting it use you).
  • Do a digital/dopamine detox and build from a zero-base after it.

A healthy relationship with technology is not about completely subtracting technology from your life. It's about creating time and space for the most important things (God, your children, your business) to get your attention.

For more on this topic, check out Episode 29 of this podcast and see the below resources.

Deuteronomy 6:5-9: These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
